DO35 V3PLUS Cruisemaster 3500kg

The Cruisemaster DO35 V3 is a 3.5 tonne all-terrain coupling built for heavier caravans and modern weight distribution setups. Forged steel, laser-cut stainless steel, high-quality polyurethane and precision casting combine for a coupling over 50% stronger than the previous model, while removing the need for hitch adaptors.

High articulation in every direction keeps the trailer tracking true over rough terrain and adds a safety margin if things go wrong on the road. A simple positive locking mechanism secures the coupling — once locked, the Checklock cap fits over the top with an audible snap, keeping dirt out and giving a clear visual check it's properly attached. The patented tow pin and view port make lining up vehicle and trailer straightforward, even in technical terrain.

Fitting the tow pin: fit the tow pin to the tow bar using the supplied spring washer and nut, torqued to the setting below for your thread size. A c-spanner is supplied to hold the tow pin in place while torquing.

Fitting the coupling to the drawbar: always use four new bolts — minimum M12 Class 8.8 torqued to 90Nm (66 lbs.ft), or 7/16" Grade 5 torqued to 100Nm (74 lbs.ft). Use nylon insert nuts or spring washers. Do not weld the coupling to the drawbar — it must be mounted flat on the drawbar plate. A minimum drawbar weight of 50kg (110lb) is recommended, not exceeding 350kg (772lb).

Compatible with weight distribution hitches (including dedicated WDH adaptor kits for Hayman Reese systems), provided the maximum downward drawbar load of 350kg is not exceeded prior to tightening.

Handbrake options: models with "-I" in the part number include an integrated handbrake; "-R" models have the handbrake removed. Where drawbar design restricts an integrated handbrake, a remote or side-mount handbrake is available separately.

Maintenance: keep the tow pin and universal clean and lightly greased, lubricate grease points regularly with multi-purpose lithium grease, and flush with water if the locking mechanism doesn't open freely due to dirt. A full check every 10,000km or 12 months is recommended.

Note: the DO35's E-Coat finish resists corrosion well but may fade with extended UV exposure over time — this doesn't affect performance. If stored outside, covering the coupling when not in use will help keep the finish looking its best.
