How to check a mount will fit your vehicle's receiver
Beyond capacity and drop, two measurements decide whether a mount will physically fit and lock into your vehicle's tow bar receiver:
- Pin to front (shank length) — from the centre of the lock pin hole to the front end of the mount's shank (the end you insert into the receiver). This needs to be longer than the same measurement on your vehicle's receiver, or the lock pin won't line up.
- Pin to rear — from the centre of the lock pin hole to the rear of the mount's shank. This needs to be shorter than the same measurement on your vehicle's receiver, or the shank will bottom out before the pin holes align.

| Fit is loose? | A few millimetres of play between mount and receiver is normal — anti-rattle shims sort this out if it bothers you. |
